The Super Bowl is no longer just for the testosterone laden, ladies put up your pom poms and paint your faces, it’s time for some football! With February 7th on the horizon it is the time to start planning the perfect party that can cater to both men and women sports fanatics.
No need for snazzy appetizers or colorful cocktails, in this time honored tradition good ole’ beer and finger foods will do just fine. Breakout the paper plates and your favorite team’s koozie and whip up this tailgate favorite…
Jill’s famous Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Dip (serves 12)
Slow cooker
1 – 1.5 lbs lbs chicken breast (boiled and hand shredded into 1 inch pieces)
24 oz. Buffalo wing sauce
16 oz. Ranch Salad Dressing OR Spicy Ranch Salad Dressing
24 oz. cream cheese
16 oz shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon Cayenne pepper (optional… for an extra spicy dip!)
2-3 large bags of Fritos Scoops
- Add all ingredients to slow cooker on medium heat & cook for 6-8 hours stirring every hour or more.
- Reduce heat to low and stir more often if edges begin to burn
- Keep dip in slow cooker on warm and let guests serve themselves with Fritos Scoops
This recipe is even better if cooked the day before and reheated in the slow cooker for a couple hours before your Super Bowl Sunday party.
Have recipes ready, because everyone will ask for a copy. ENJOY!!!

My brother-in-law makes a very similar recipe & loves it! His calls for an entire bottle of Red Hot (too spicy for me) and no cream cheese. I’ll definitely tell him about this version. His Buffalo Chicken Dip was a big hit at the NYE party I went to! I’m looking forward to the social gathering for Superbowl rather than the actual game, but any excuse to get together with loved ones is OK by me!
Sounds good-but I prefer a simple slice of pizza and a coke.
what about the good old fashioned tuna sandwich on rye??
or the basic grilled cheese sandwich and chips ?
Call me simple..thats ok..I think wings are overrated…all that cooking and cleaning for a chickens wing
Love this Buffalo Chicken Dip – one of my favorites…
dudes and Dedettes, come on, it’s the New Orleans Saints! Jambalaya for all and ironically it’s the Colt that get’s kicked this time!
I have a similar recipe and my husband loves it. I love watching football and the Superbowl is always a good excuse for a party! Beer, food and friends – What a great way to spend a cold winter day!
Sounds delicious! My husband will be good at making this recipe!
I was thinking about what to take to the Super Bowl party insteady of my usual spinach dip….great change! Thanks for the recipe!
Dateline Pittsburgh
One of the most memorable moments in all of football was last years when Big Ben connected with Santion Holmes in the last seconds of the game to win the superbowl.
Alas the Steelers aren’t in the game this year. So this Super Sunday we here in Pittsburgh will attend the greatest championship game that doesn’t matter because we have 6 and you don’t party at the Iron City Grille
cp said: copied the receipe and it will become a staple in our refrig. I think we call it Jills secret.
I wonder how it will taste on a simple piece of pizza or as a topping on grilled cheese sandwich, maybe even folded into a batch of Jambalaya.
Buffalo Chicken dip is the best!!!!
The sounds phenomenal – I could do buffalo chicken for breakfast lunch and dinner – no problem
I have to agree! I thought I was getting fancy with buffalo chicken nachos, but I think this dip is the way to go.
I think my sister makes a dip just like this – it’s fantastic!
Seriously? What’s better than buffalo chicken and fritos? Oh well of course there would have to be beer, but that’s a given isn’t it?
Buffalo Chicken Dip and a Colts SB victory, what a great combo!!!
thanks, you can have the football, I just like the food, half-time and commercials
I will try this recipe
This is probably the only game I would watch all year
Super Bowl Sunday isn’t just about football! It’s about the food too and this proves it, we can’t stop talking about the food. Of course good company is always a plus! This dip is going on the menu!
What better than buffalo chicken and fritos? How abouy buffalo chicken pizza! Yes out of this world. Not something that I will be making this year but somethig to think about for future parties. I really like the sound of this dip, will need to add some extra hot sauce though.
Super Bowl is not just about the food, it is also about the game, the commercials and great friends and family that gets together to enjoy this.
My wife makes this exact dip without the cream cheese. Next time we will throw it in too!
Something new to the menu for Sunday’s big game. Thanks for the idea.
